GUEST REVIEWS

Our guests are the best part of the Dryhead Schively Ranch. As part of the sharing we do at our ranch we would like our website to reflect some of the feelings our guests have about their experience with us.
Please leave your story.

Here you can find some guest comments (2007/2008/2009).

And here is a little collection of guest reviews, travel stories and pictures our guests sent us:

2006:

Susan (Cunningham) MacLeod wrote on Dec. 30, 2006:
I had recently had a lot of turmoil in my life, the loss of my father the biggest, I sat one day at my home and decided an adventure was needed. I was going to go to Canada, but the fates took a hand and sent me to you! Schively. I had never flown that far or on my own but again as luck would have it another English lass was booked to come (Jo) and we met up and out we came.
My goodness, it seems a lifetime ago now and yet only yesterday!
I remember so vividly Whitey. I thought he was very scary, but actually a nicer kinder soul one could not wish to meet. The first few days I kind of just ambled along with every one else, I think I missed the point on several things but it did not matter, I could not get enough of it all.
The cattle drive was so amazing I still get a rush of adrenaline even now some 9 years on. I think that the thing which struck me most was the family. These wonderful people who welcomed us complete strangers into their home with love, and caring.
I loved the rounding up of the horses and I still remember lining up with every one waiting for them to come over the hill, nervous, but thrilled all at the same time. The sunshine, the snow, the long drive up to the Ranch at the top of the mountains, it felt like the top of the world! I did not want to leave.
The whole experience was life changing, I learnt a lot about myself, my strengths, courage, friendship and above all the ability to believe in myself again, particularly when I took it upon myself to help out when one of our party had an accident.
Since then I have gone on to get married, something I never imagined, I have 3 wonderful children and have this year become a Christian, much of this I believe was and is because of my experiences there on that place called Schively / Dryhead. One day when we can afford it I will come again and bring my children. I show them pictures of my holiday there, and they look at me with wide eyes and say "mummy is that REALLY you on that horse?"
what can I say..........
Thank you

Heidi and Helmut LOVED IT to be on the Fall horse drive in 2006! They sent us some pics.

"six and working on number seven"
I first went to the )S( Dryhead Ranch in '92 and have returned in 93, 95, 97, 99, 00, 02 and am getting a group ready for 04! I love this place and the people. If you are looking for a resort, don't go! This is a working ranch and you do what needs to be done. I always go the first or this year the second branding week. My group likes this work and we have a ball doing it. I highly recomend it. A+A+A+

JOCHEN wrote a travel story and sent us great pics and a video!
(Sorry, the video is too big for the web pages.)

2002:

I rode on three cattle drives with you all in 1998 and 1999. It is hard for me to admit, but I found a real heart felt home in those mountains in Montana. I miss you allm VERY MUCH and very often get teary eyed and homesick for Montana.
Since that time, I have been working with the Boy Scouts teaching Horsemanship and Indian Lore. Last summer I took 8 scouts on an eight day ride on horseback (packing in) in the mountains around Cimmeron, New Mexico (Philmont Scout Reservation - 129,000 acres). I am currently trying to start a small cattle and Morgan Horse operation with a guest ranch / Boy Scout camp in northeastern Louisiana (Brangas cattle). The ranch will be called Whispern' Wind Ranch (see John 3:9).
I must say I was sad to hear of Joe's passing and please tell Iris that I will miss him too. I talk about you all, all the time to everyone who is interested in horses --- I pray for you all and wish I could be there (have always had an ambition to be a ranch cook - I love to cook and especially remember those"COWBOY TOCOS").

STEFFI sent us a copy of a german article she wrote for a horse journal.
